Read moreIn April 2001 local agencies and organisations joined a steering group to look at developing services for parents living in Stratford district.
The group recognised that there was very little support for parents and accessing information was particularly difficult. To overcome this the group obtained funding to set up the Stratford District Parenting Project.
After employing a project co-ordinator using this funding we launched the project in October 2003. This was done by visiting seven schools across the District and inviting families to join us in a celebration of starting something big.
We had an artist creating plaster hand castings which children were able to paint and take home. 230 children in total did this!!
Parents were also invited to complete a questionnaire regarding parenting services in Stratford. All the views received were then used in the planned of our new services.
The project would like to thank everyone involved in this steering group for all their hard work and vision to improve the lives of parents in Stratford. Without their successful partnership work the Parenting Project would not be here. Thank you!
